Plans Rs 120-crore hotel project in Kerala by next year

As the Indian hospitality industry continues to beckon international players, Gulf-based NRI entrepreneur Ravi Pillai is all set to enter the sector with a Rs 120-crore hotel project in Kerala.

“We are planning to enter the hospitality sector in India in a major way with operations from Delhi to Chennai,” said Pillai, Managing Director, Nasir S Al Hazri Corp, at a press conference here yesterday.

“Besides launching the Rs 120-crore hotel project at Kollam in Kerala by next year, we are also planning a Rs 100-crore medical resort in Kollam to boost the medical tourism sector in India,” offered Pillai, who is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Dubai-based Versailles Hotel and Air Choice Travel and Amp Tourism. He was in the city to receive the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award from President Pratibha Patil at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2008, the annual conclave of the Indian diaspora.
