The role: To complement the Front Office team, we are currently looking for ....

Guest Services Executive to work at the reception desk. Apart from being the main point of contact for the guests upon their arrival until their departure, the Guest Services Executive also:

* Gives a warm welcome to guests on arrival and registers them
* Takes payment from guests on departure and closes their bills
* Sells rooms to walk-in guests

Ensures that the Guest Services Desk is manned, operationally prepared, and stocked at all times

Maintains the privacy of all guests by ensuring that no details of the guest are disclosed to anybody

Experience required:
The successful candidate has a minimum of 1 year working experience in Concierge/ Front Office/ Reception or Guest Relations within a 5* hotel. Previous resort experience and/ or Gulf experience will be an added advantage but is not a must.
Personal details & Skills:

The ability to communicate on all levels in English is an absolute must for this role. Knowledge of European languages or Arabic is a good advantage.

Candidate should have Basic Computer skills, knowledge of Fidelio and to be able to work shifts.

We are looking for an extremely proactive and 'switched on' candidate with an outgoing, friendly and courteous character. In addition to that, you will be a great team-player who thrives in working with a multi-cultural team and guests alike.

Mars Hotels & Restaurants plans to introduce three new properties under its boutique hotel brand, The Gordon House, by 2010. Of these properties, two are expected to come up in Bengaluru and one in New Delhi. According to a company source, the project has been ...

...finalised and construction will begin shortly.

The Gordon House brand consists of two sub-brands. The Gordon House Suites brand covers properties housing 100 rooms or more. The Gordon House Hotel brand encompasses properties with less than 100 rooms. The proposed New Delhi property and one property in Bengaluru are expected to come up under the Gordon House Suites brand. The second Bengaluru hotel will come under the Gordon House Hotel umbrella.

The group is also in the process of expanding its portfolio under the Gordon House brand. Management as well as ownership contracts are under consideration for the same. The primary focus will be on expansion through ownership. Potential cities for expansion include Nagpur, Nashik, Ludhiana, Indore and Ahmedabad.

Mars is also considering introducing restaurants in its various hotel brands. The restaurants will be location-specific and will adapt to the hotel’s profile, informs the source. The group plans to add its restobar, Not Just Jazz By The Bay, to its upcoming properties.

It hopes to offer complete holiday packages through the lounges, which will be set up in metros and state capitals. The plan is to set up the first 3-4 lounges on its own, while the rest will be set up through the franchisee model.

NEWS| Lotus Suites to be promoted as a MICE destination

Plans to set up 20 resorts by 2010

Lotus Suites, the leisure segment offering of Kamat Hotels India Limited (KHIL) will be promoted as a Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination. KHIL also plans to tie up with .... a leading spa operator for the suite properties once the brand becomes completely operational.

KHIL has already soft launched three Lotus Suites — two in Goa and one on the Murud Harnai beach in the past three months. According to Vikram Kamat, Director, KHIL, the group’s fourth property is slated to open in Baroda by March 2008.
