Emirates Flight Catering is the world’s biggest in-flight catering facility providing in-flight catering and support services for airlines from Dubai International Airport. With a workforce of over 5300 multinational employees, EKFC has a clientele of 110 airlines and airline hospitality lounges in Dubai International Airport.

The Position: Reporting to the Vice President – Airport Catering Services, the incumbent will lead a team of senior professionals; conceptualize & manage the strategic operations of Concourse 1 & 2; provide leadership, expert business and technical advice at global standards; establish highest quality, service & catering standards; enact a corporate liaison role at senior levels with international airline representatives, civil aviation officials, established clientele and other stakeholders. Incumbent will also plan, coordinate and direct all business plans and budget preparations; formulate business & sales strategies/objectives; develop business models & strategic planning systems and determine optimum strategies for future expansions; develop strategic decision making tools and unified budget program; conduct portfolio analysis and menu development; monitors actual performance vis-à-vis variations in results and targets; designs and builds supply & demand models, planning and financial models.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Graduate in Catering / Hotel management
• Extensive experience in senior F&B Management in a five star hotel or international airport catering services.
• Should be dynamic, result oriented with international networking, excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Should have top-notch client management portfolio.

NEWS| IHG To Manage Two New Hotels In New Delhi

New-build 200-room InterContinental hotel and 264-room Holiday Inn hotel to open in residential suburb of Mayur Vihar in 2011

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has signed an agreement with leading Indian real estate developer Eros to manage two new hotels - a 200-room InterContinental and a 264-room Holiday Inn - in the capital city of New Delhi.

Both hotels will be developed as part of an integrated complex in the prestigious residential suburb of Mayur Vihar in East Delhi. The hotels will be linked to shopping malls, offices and premium residences, with easy access to nearby technology parks, industrial belts and places of interest. Construction has commenced and opening is scheduled for 2011.

TRENDS| Continued Growth Signalled for Travel & Tourism Industry

World Travel & Tourism Council The Latest Research for Travel & Tourism Anticipates a Slowdown in the Industry in 2008 but Prospects are Bright for the Coming ten Years
World Travel & Tourism is expected to generate close to US$8 trillion in 2008, rising to approximately US$15 trillion over the next ten years, according to the latest Tourism Satellite Accounting (TSA) research launched today by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and its strategic partner Accenture.

Overall, the new TSA results reveal a moderate impact on the Travel & Tourism industry as a result of the global economic downturn, with its annual growth rate experiencing a slowdown in 2008, to 3%, in comparison to 3.9% in 2007.

Looking past this present cyclical downturn, the long-term forecasts point to a mature but steady phase of growth for world Travel & Tourism between 2009 and 2018, averaging a growth rate of 4.4% per annum, supporting 297 million jobs and 10.5% of global GDP by 2018.
