JOBS| Duty Manager with Taj

Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Front Office department and Co-ordinate with various other departments in order to ensure personalized, prompt and flawless service to all guests. The position will also act a as a 'One Point Contact' for all the in-house guests, incase of guest requests, complaints or any other feedback.

Staffing and Scheduling of the shift and allocation of duties.
Implement systems and procedures that achieve higher cost efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Facilitate learning and development for all the team members of the outlet
Performance Appraisal/ Management of the staff in the department.

A minimum of 2 -3 years supervisory experience in the Front Office department
Operational experience in reservation

Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration has partnered with eCornell to create a six-course certificate series on the dynamics of hotel real estate and management contracts for property owners, operators and lenders.

NEWS| Intl| Best Western Targets 30 Hotels in Japan by 2010

Best Western Best Western plans expansion to become the largest International hotel chain in Japan within three years.

Best Western International continues its expansion into the Land of the Rising Sun, targeting 30 hotels by 2010, which would make it the largest hotel chain in Japan.

'Japan has a lot to offer as a destination,' stated Mr. Glenn de Souza, Best Western Vice President International Operations Asia, 'It is an art and cultural center, has stunning architecture and is home to a range of natural attractions.'

Mr. de Souza expressed his optimism on the achievable goal of becoming the largest International hotel chain in Japan within the next three years. 'Visitor arrivals to Japan have shown strong growth in recent years, and this trend is likely to continue into the foreseeable future,' he said.
