Job Description
Responsible for the production of foods within designated area and preparation of prepare dishes in accordance with the stipulated recipes or instructions from Sr. Kitchen staff as per menu requirements.

Maintain a high standard of production, quality, presentation and cleanliness laid down by the Executive Chef/ F&B Manager. Adhere to Health, Hygiene and fire safety standards as outlined in the Dubai Municipality Food Control Section regulations.

Desired Candidate Profile
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
'A qualification in professional cookery or similar from a recognised training institute or a minimum of 5 years experience in an upmarket catering establishment with exposure to various catering styles and services of which a minimum of one year would be at a supervisory level.

NEWS| New Brand Identity of Trident Hotels Announced

The new brand identity of Trident Hotels was launched today. 'Trident Hilton' hotels located in Gurgaon (Delhi National Capital Region), Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Cochin, Bhubaneswar and Chennai have been rebranded 'Trident'. 'Hilton Towers' in Mumbai is now 'Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai'.


The new brand identity of Trident Hotels was launched today. ‘Trident Hilton’ hotels located in Gurgaon (Delhi National Capital Region), Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Cochin, Bhubaneswar and Chennai have been rebranded ‘Trident’. ‘Hilton Towers’ in Mumbai is now ‘Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai’.

Addressing the press conference Mr. P.R.S. Oberoi said, “The first Trident Hotel opened in 1988. Since then Trident Hotels have established a reputation for efficiency and consistency. The Trident brand is committed to making sure that guests at all Trident Hotels continue to receive dependable and caring service.

The outlook for the Trident brand in India is excellent and we are very confident that Trident Hotels will continue to expand exponentially.

The 436 key Trident hotel at Bandra Kurla, Mumbai is scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2008. We expect Trident, Bandra Kurla to be the market leader in North Mumbai. A 320 key Trident hotel at the new International Airport in Bangalore and a 334 key Trident hotel at Cyber City, Hyderabad will be under construction soon. The construction of a 200 key Trident hotel located at Chandigarh will commence in the last quarter of 2008.

We are exploring opportunities of extending the Trident brand overseas.”

Mr. Oberoi announced that Mr. Rattan Keswani has been appointed as President of the Trident brand. Mr. Keswani will be responsible for overseeing the operations of Trident Hotels. He will also seek opportunities to expand the brand.

NEWS| Royal Orchid picks up 50% stake in Goa hotel

Bangalore: Royal Orchid Hotels has announced that it has acquired a 50% stake in Galaxy Beach Resort located at Utorda beach in South Goa. Galaxy Beach Resort, a boutique beach hotel with 65 room capacity, will now be owned by Royal Orchid along with Vascon Engineers, a release said.

"The in-vestment in the property in Goa reflects our aggressive growth plans. Goa is a national tourism hub and the acquisition further strengthens our presence in the tourism circuit in addition to our hotels at key business locations across India", Royal Orchid chairman and managing director Chender Baljee said. The resort will be upgraded in the coming months. The upgradation is expected to be completed by this October.

"We are keen in improving this Goan hotel and expanding our footprint in the tourist destination in India", he said.
Royal Orchid Hotels primarily operates five, four star, budget, leisure getaways and heritage hotels. It currently operates 10 hotels in Bangalore, Mysore, Pune, Jaipur and Hyderabad.

NEWS| Emaar MGF Marriott tie up

With the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU), Emaar MGF and JW Marriott will come together to develop four hotels at Amritsar, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, with an estimated investment of
$400 mn.

The hotels are likely to be complete by end of 2010. As part of the agreement, Emaar MGF will be the owner Marriott International shall provide advisory and management services for planning, design and construction.

Ginger hotels

Theme rooms, the latest innovation from Ginger will add a different stroke to your stay. On display in Theme rooms will be works of art, including a signed print, by artists invited to stay at Ginger.

The Theme room will be named after the artist whose works are displayed in it. Ginger currently has a theme room at Bhubaneshwar, named after Jatin Das — a prolific figurative painter, graphic artist, sculptor, muralist and poet. With more than 49 years of experience under his belt, Mr Das has contributed to several major national and international shows and fourteen limited editions of his theme-based graphics and drawings have been published in India, Germany and UK.

As part of the Theme room concept and special treat for our guests, an original creation of the artist will be displayed in the lobby. The Spirited Man, specially created for Ginger Bhubaneshwar by Jatin Das is currently exhibited in the hotel lobby.

NEWS| Chandigarh Administration auctions off 5 acres for five star property

In process of auctioning off another plot in Mani Majra, Chandigarh

Due to increased growth in the Chandigarh hospitality industry, the Chandigarh Administration plans to auction off five acres of land for a five star hotel. The land is located at sector 29 near the Chandigarh-New Delhi highway.

Confirming the plan, Vivek Atray, Director Tourism, Chandigarh said that the growth in Information Technology (IT) and MICE segments have made Chandigarh the hotel industry's next destination. Big brands are on the look out for suitable space in or around the city, to exploit the huge supply-demand. "The Chandigarh Administration has decided to invite the private sector, to set up the five star hotel," adds Atray.

NEWS| Indian hotel company sets eyes on Phillipines



Taj Hotels and Resorts and Palaces, an affiliate of India’s premier business house Tata Group, plans to establish one of its world-class hotels/resorts in either Palawan or Makati.

Through the help of the Department of Tourism, Rajiv Gujral, chief operating officer and senior vice president for merger, acquisitions and development of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, visited Manila, Makati, Tagaytay, Cebu and Palawan for a series of familiarization tours last month. And of these places, Palawan impressed Gujral the most.

“The island [Palawan] is very very beautiful,” says Gujral. “It is very unique. It is good for the honeymooners market as well as a family destination.”

Gujral hopes to bring the same world-class standards and services to the soon-to-be-built hotel/resort in Palawan. In fact, the Indian businessman estimates a room could cost about US$200 to US$500 per night per tourist, with each room running from US$350,000 to US$450,000 in capital investment.

“The destination has the potential to demand such a price,” says Gujral.

NEWS| The Claridges Hotels and Resorts records increased growth

The Claridges Hotels and Resorts has recorded a top line growth of 40 percent at the end of FY2007─08. The group's three operational properties have recorded a marked increase in their turnover. The Claridges, New Delhi and the Atrium Hotel and Conferencing put together saw an increase of over 45 per cent in revenue.

The alliance with WORLDHOTELS has contributed towards bringing about a significant increase in the top line of the Claridges Hotels and Resorts. Of the total room nights of the Claridges, New Delhi and Atrium during the quarter January─March 2008, 15 per cent has come through the worldwide reservations network of WORLDHOTELS.

NEWS| Jasminn launches first property in Goa

Jasminn, a hotel brand developed by Rammi Khanna & Co Pvt Ltd, has launched its first property in Goa on April 3, 2008. The 18 room hotel will be positioned as a budget property, which offers average room rates of Rs 3000.

The hotel aims to cater to long and short stay guests. "There is a great market for extended stays in Goa and we aim to cater to that market," informs Manish Khanna, Director, Rammi Khanna & Co.

NEWS| Intl| 7th Hilton in Thailand

This latest hotel will be opening in 2010, in the eastern coastal resort destination of Pattaya amid the Central Festival Pattaya Beach complex.

Hilton Hotels Corporation today announced that its subsidiary has signed an agreement with CPN Pattaya Beach Co. Ltd (a subsidiary of Central Pattana Public Company Ltd) to manage the Hilton Pattaya, a 300-room upscale full service hotel in the beginning of 2010.


With an exclusive ground floor entrance, the main lobby of the Hilton Pattaya will be located on the 7th floor, with the 300 upscale guest rooms located in a 15 storey tower above the lobby. The 25th floor restaurant will serve as Pattaya’s first premium sky restaurant overlooking the Pattaya Bay.
