NEWS| APBAL launches Tiger beer in Mumbai

Tiger beer the flagship brand of Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd (APBL) has been launched by the company's Indian subsidiary Asia Pacific Breweries Aurangabad Ltd (APBAL) in Mumbai on 16 April 2008. The beer is currently manufactured at APBAL's brewery in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

"APBAL seeks to enhance its brand offerings to cater to the various segments of the beer market and offer the consumers a greater choice. Tiger will aptly serve those who enjoy a beer with marginally lower alcohol content," says Vivek Chhabra, Regional Director, South Asia and Director, Group Business Development APBL. The beer will contain five percent alcohol. The European styled lager beer will be made available at trade outlets including wine shops, pubs and restaurants.

Hilton Hotels today announced the winners of its annual awards recognizing top performing North American hotels based on outstanding performance in the brand’s “Balanced Scorecard” rating system in areas such as customer loyalty, service, quality assurance and customer satisfaction ratings – as well as exemplary efforts in hotel renovation and diversity projects.

“With a stellar 2007 behind us it’s once again time to recognize the exceptional work of some of our top hotels, those that work tirelessly to create a transformative experience for our guests,” said Jeff Diskin, senior vice president of brand management – Hilton Hotels and Resorts. “We believe that the key to creating positive guests experiences is to provide inspired service in a consistent and hassle-free manner. The winning hotels have done just that and are representative of the high standards to which we hold our brand.”

The Connie Awards, named in honor of company founder Conrad Hilton, are awarded based on three key components, including: quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and brand standards; customer scores rating staff service; and customer service scores rating the quality of the hotel’s physical accommodations.

CarlsonWith continual growth, the target of 1000 hotels is sure to be reached this year.

Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced the addition of 11 locations to its global portfolio during March 2008.

The new hotels include one Regent hotel and six Country Inn & Suites By CarlsonSM hotels in the United States; three Radisson properties, with two in South America and one in Canada; and one Radisson SAS resort in the Ukraine. Carlson’s global lodging portfolio totals 986 hotels with 148,759 rooms in 71 countries. Carlson hotel brands also include Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts and Park Inn®.
