What is the importance given to training in hotels these days?

How many years of operational experience does one need to become a good training?

This individual (He/She) should be a responsible self starter, capable of handling multi-faceted tasks. Creative & hands-on, attention to detail and passionate. Positive "can-do" attitude. Will develop detailed department operation manuals that reflects policies & procedures, work processes, and standards of performance within the division. Equips and motivates employees to achieve predetermined goals, installing and maintaining appropriate empowerment programs. Working closely with The General Manager in implementing, achieving and developing the hotels goals and objectives. Is a member of the strategic leading team and dedicated to upholding and instilling the Zuri Hotels & Resorts values.

Position Profile:
Minimum one to four years work experience as Executive Chef is a similar property with 5 star hotel background with a proven steady growth record.

* Must have reached Executive Chef level
* Responsible for food culture, menus design and implementation of all kitchen procedures
* Friendly & energetic personality, great team player
* Proven experience in developing local staff members
* Strong business acumen
* Pre-opening experience an advantage
* Excellent mentoring & training skills.
* Familiar with current culinary trends and methods. Anticipates and recognizes signs of up-coming trends and market behavior.
* Computer knowledge - Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel
* Budget knowledge

Reporting to the Executive Chef, this will be an extremely challenging role for even the most capable of individuals as the successful candidate will not only assistant in the day to day management and success, but will also ensure that exceptional standards of food are maintained. You will be setting the standard.

The ideal candidate will currently be in a similar role, in a similar environment for at least 1 year. You must have strong knowledge of local & international cuisine. You must also have experience in banqueting.

The Pastry/Bakery Chef will be responsible for supervising all phases of pastry/Bakery food production. Carry full responsibility for food quality and service from the pastry/Bakery area. This should be accomplished through training of department associates who operate in compliance with company standards of quality and portion control.

Requirements

Must have previous pastry/Bakery experience Personal Excellent Communication Skills Hospitable and warm nature Team Player Leadership Skills

Responsibilities

Prepare, supervise and cook on Pastry/Bakery section.

Oversee all food production by Pastry/Bakery associates.

Check and regulate food items for use in record accuracy and quality control.

Follow the ‘Clean as you go’ policy and set and example. Ensure section is always left clean at the end of all shifts.

Liaise with Sous Chef on any matters of conflict

Rotation of foods – First in First out (FIFO)

To attend and participate at any meetings where relevant, when on duty

Identify training needs and be active in fifteen minutes training per day.

Liaise with restaurant manager, supervisors and waiting staff as necessary in order to achieve high guest satisfaction.

Beware of accident prevention and help to ensure safe working conditions. Zero accidents are our goal.

Follow all hotel regulations as outlined and directed

Provide and successfully implement new menus together with Sous Chef.

We are looking for an Italian Chef de Cuisine for the 60 seats fine dining Italian restaurant. This Chef will manage an authentic Italian and Mediterranean cuisine for lunch and dinner. This Chef de Cuisine must have a previous experience as Italian Chef de Cuisine within a 5 Star property.
The Italian Chef will report directly to the Executive Chef and will be responsible for the efficient and successful operation of the designated Kitchen. He/she assists the Executive Chef in the day-to-day kitchen operations. Lead by example with hands on management style. Motivates & empowers the team to consistently focus on our guests and deliver on service excellence.

As Oriental Chef, you are responsible for assisting the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in leading and managing all sections of the Kitchen Department in order to ensure the highest standards of service, whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:

* Constantly checks the quality of food prepared with regard to taste and temperature.
* Insists on a uniform visual appearance of all dishes prepared; all presentation and garnish must be prepared according to the standards.
* Checks all food related set-ups for restaurant and banquet functions.
* Responsible for the correct timing during service and to ensure that food served is always of the highest standards.
* Checks stores and refrigerators and be responsible for the proper storing and recycling of leftovers.
