Assistant Chief Engineer - Maldives

Our client, a stunning ultra luxurious resort in the Maldives, has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Chief Engineer. Based on island, you will report directly to the Group Chief Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the preventative maintenance and leading a large local team.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in a Maintenance (minimum supervisory capacity) who understand luxury and guest satisfaction.

Gourmet coffee chain Starbucks plans to unveil plans for its first value menu

According to media reports, the menu worth $3.95 will offer a latte with coffee cake or drip coffee with hot sandwich.

Starbucks value menu — food and drink pairing program — will roll out March 3and will be offered all day at company-owned US stores.

The $3.95 deal will include one of four hot sandwiches, currently sold at half of Starbucks' US locations, and a tall, drip coffee. Also offered for that price is a tall latte and either a slice of cinnamon swirl coffee cake or a bowl of oatmeal.

The move by Starbucks is glaring evidence of how retailers and marketers have been forced by the economy to rethink game plans and long-held strategies. Additional price-cutting is expected at Starbucks soon.

NEWS| Parsvnath Hotels gets 5-star approval from Tourism Ministry

Parsvnath Hotels, a subsidiary of Parsvnath Developers Limited (PDL), has received 5-star category project approval from Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for its upcoming hotel project at Hyderabad.

The hotel is expected to be operational by 2011.

Spread over an area of 11063.68 sq mts, the total plot area would incorporate a shopping mall, office complexes and a five-star category hotel. The hotel comprising 186 rooms offers coffee shop, multi cuisine and specialty restaurants, a bar and a few boutique shops coupled with all amenities of a five star hotel.

The hotel is strategically located in the Rajiv Gandhi Circle at Kukatpally, Hyderabad.

NEWS| Radisson Delhi earmarks Rs 800 crore to unveil 8 new hotels

“At present, we are operating two of the Radisson hotels in India in New Delhi and Varanasi. We have now plans for eight new hotels under Carlson Group’s Radisson, Park Plaza and Country Inn brands at an investment of Rs 800 crore,” said R Kapur, MD, Radisson Hotel Delhi.

Kapur said the new hotels would come up at Bhubaneshwar, Chilka Lake, Hyderabad, Konark, Puri, Paradip, Vishakhapatnam, and Kakinada and the investment would come from the company’s internal accrual and debt.

“We have presently an inventory of 400 rooms in our two existing hotels. With the new hotels in place, our inventory would reach a figure of 1,000,” Kapur added.
