Do you delegate?

most brilliant people can do everything brilliantly if only they had the time.
but you dont.
so, brilliant as you are, you will be left with a lot to do, that you will never be able to do, just coz you dont have another 24 hours, everyday.
find out the tasks that you do not enjoy, think someone else could do just as well, or just a little less and start delegating.
that is a start.
but if I could persuade you to, I would suggest you take a different approach.
find out, hunt for people better than you at things you do everyday and then delegate.
it is so much better!

TECH| The Lemon Tree Hotels ties up with Xn Hotel Systems

Xn Hotel Systems (India) Pvt Ltd has entered into an agreement with The Lemon Tree Hotels to install its Protel Property Management System (PMS) in the hotel chain’s economy segment brand, Red Fox Hotels.

The company has signed the contract for five hotels under the brand with the first property scheduled to be launched in November 2009.

NEWS| World's tallest hotel with 118 floors to open in Hong Kong

Luxury hotel chain Ritz-Carlton is to open the world's tallest hotel in Hong Kong in 2010 with its top floor on the 118th storey, a news report said Wednesday.

The six-star hotel will occupy the top 17 floors of Hong Kong's tallest building, the 484-metre International Commerce Centre (ICC), the South China Morning Post reported.

The hotel, with 312 guest rooms, will look out over Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour from Kowloon where the ICC building is being completed.

Currently, the world's tallest hotels are the 333-metre, 72-floor Rose Hotel in Dubai, followed by the 330-metre, 105-floor Ryogyong Hotel in Pyongyang and the 321-metre Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai.

There's no better way to spend a romantic autumn night than a combination of mouth-watering food and bittersweet wine to match.

Park Hyatt Seoul in Gangnam hosts the "Masters of Food & Wine" festival from today through Nov. 8, featuring gourmet events by celebrated chefs and internationally acclaimed wineries from around the world.

"Unlike previous festivals local hotels hosted where they invited a guest chef and served their inventions, our event is going to be much more large-scale and versatile," said Lim Soo-yeon, the Marketing Communications Manager of Park Hyatt Seoul.

Having started more than 20 years ago in the United States, the "Masters of Food & Wine" has become prominent among festivals of this type, having gained successes in other Park Hyatt hotels in Argentina, Vietnam and France.

Guest Fraud| Skipper in Mumbai

The 50-year-old con artist, with a history of duping some of the swishest hotels in India, has been convicted in 16 cases and done eight years in jail time.

On Sunday, he was arrested for defrauding a Navi Mumbai hotel.

In his latest job, John hit the Supreme Heritage hotel in Vashi’s Sector 19. And he used the same formula that he has employed at hotels across the countryside — his targets have included such marquee names as the Taj, JW Marriott, the President and the Leela group.

Inspector D.D. Tele, APMC police station, Vashi, said: “He phones the hotel and tells them that Deepak Stephen, a top official of Asia Agro Chemicals, will be staying with them for two days. He arrives the next day, looking very much like a top executive.”

“Once there, he gains the trust of the staff and tells them he’s arranging a conference in the hotel for around 30 people. He asks them for a laptop and a CD projector – and disappears with them early in the morning,” Tele added.

NEW HOTELS| Radisson to add new 162-room hotel in Chennai

Radisson Hotels is on an expansion drive in Chennai with a new 162-room hotel project, even as it plans to raise its inventory in its existing hotel.

The new project, estimated to cost around Rs 150 crore, is perceived as one of the biggest deals to be inked in the last 12 months.

Radisson forayed into the Chennai market with a 100-room hotel near the airport. According to an industry tracker, Radisson plans to add another 30 rooms to its existing inventory here. It has acquired land adjacent to the current complex and has begun construction. This expanded property would be ready before March 2010.

FINANCE| NEWS| Starwood's Profits Down 65 Percent

Reeling from double-digit declines in revenue per available room (RevPAR) in the U.S. and abroad, Starwood Hotel & Resorts Worldwide on Thursday reported a 65 percent drop in third-quarter profit.

Net income totaled $40 million, or 22 cents per share during the period, down from $113 million, or 62 cents per share, in the third quarter of 2008.

RevPAR system-wide in North America fell 19.7 percent in the third quarter on a same-store basis. The company also reported a 20.3 percent drop in RevPAR system-wide globally.
