HAI to host Hoteliers’ Conclave in New Delhi on August 24 and 25, 2010

Hotel Association of India (HAI) will host the second edition of Hoteliers' Conclave in New Delhi at Taj Palace Hotel on August 24 and 25, 2010. According to HAI, the objective of the conclave is to develop a policy perspective through deeper insights into the mega trends impacting the growth of the industry. The first edition was held in 2007 and was planned as an alternate year event. However, due to an overall slowdown in the industry, the event could not take place in 2009.



Around 250 hotel industry leaders and top management people are expected to attend and discuss key issues on Human Resource Development, Infrastructure development, safety and security, taxation issues and issues related with the environment. 2010 being the SAARC Year of Tourism, industry leaders from various South Asian hotel industry associations have been invited to deliberate on transnational partnership building.


Kumari Selja, Union Minister for Tourism will inaugurate the conclave. It will be attended by Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development; Dr Arun Maira, Member, Planning Commission; Sanjay Kothari, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, besides others. P R S Oberoi, Chairman and CEO, The Oberoi Group; Rattan Keswani, Executive Vice President, Oberoi Hotels and Resorts; Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson and Managing Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group; Ajoy Misra, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, IHCL; Raymond Bickson, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL; Priya Paul, Chairperson — Appejay Surrendra Park Hotels Private Limited; Nakul Anand, Divisional Chief Executive Hotel Division, ITC Limited; Vivek Nair, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Hotel Leelaventure Ltd will participate in various business sessions, which will be organised as part of the conclave.
