World Travel Awards unveils 2010 Grand Tour destinations

World Travel Awards (WTA), which is celebrating its 17th anniversary, has unveiled 2010 Grand Tour Destinations. Dubai (UAE), Johannesburg (South Africa), Orlando (Florida, USA), Antalya (Turkey), New Delhi and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) have been selected by WTA. Each place will stage one of the six WTA regional ceremonies, with victors progressing to the Grand Final in London (UK) on November 7, 2010.

Demand for processed chicken less than 10 per cent in India

Royal Caribbean again changes date for Allure’s first cruise

According to a report by Johana Jainchill in, Royal Caribbean International moved up the inaugural cruise for the Allure of the Seas for the second time in two months. The cruise line is adding a four-day cruise that departs Port Everglades, Florida, US on December 1, 2010.

tamil Nadu witness 8, 04, 06,657 tourist arrivals in 2009

According to a PTI report, domestic and international tourist arrivals in Tamil Nadu have witnessed a 25 per cent increase in 2009 with the number crossing the eight crore mark. A Chittaranjan Mohandoss, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) said, "In 2009, the number of arrivals of both domestic and foreign travellers was 8, 04, 06,657 compared to previous year's 6, 46, 58,671, thus registering a growth of 24.36 per cent. The number of foreign tourists was 23, 69,050 in 2009 compared to 20, 40,419 in 2008."
