Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement with Tanriverdi Holding Company to manage the Shangri-La Hotel, Istanbul, opening in April 2012. The hotel will be the group's first in Turkey.

Listed hotel operator Shangri-La Asia Limited (Shangri-La) has announced net profits of US$255.5 million in 2009, a 54% increase from US$165.9 million in 2008.

HRAWI to conduct short-term courses in hotel management

In a massive drive to generate human resources for the hotel and restaurant industry, the Hotel and Restaurant Association, Western India (HRAWI) will organise short-term courses in hotel management in five states and two Union Territories, including Goa, from July onwards.
