Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the apex body which manages the tourism industry in Abu Dhabi, has launched a sustainable hotel accommodation classification system, produced in close collaboration with the private sector and which features online facility.
Kaati Zone, the pioneer in Indian Quick Service Restaurants, opened its first franchise outlet at Hebbal, Bengaluru. The new outlet is spread across 1,200 sq ft restaurant and has a seating capacity of 40. The outlet remains open through the week from 11.30 am to 10.30 pm.
Asian Hotels–West is awaiting the permission of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to start trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after the demerger of Asian Hotels into three separate entities. The company has got NSE and BSE permission.
According to the May 2010 STR/TWR/Dodge Construction Pipeline Report, the total active US hotel development pipeline comprises 3,447 projects totalling 3,64,612 rooms. This represents a 30.3-per cent decrease in the number of rooms in the total active pipeline compared to May 2009. The total active pipeline data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages, but does not include projects in the Pre-Planning stage.
