Joie de Vivre Hospitality, the second largest independent boutique hotel company in the country, has entered into a strategic capital partnership with Geolo Capital, the private equity investment arm of the John A. Pritzker family. Geolo Capital will take a majority stake in Joie de Vivre's business and provide capital to fund the boutique hotel brand's expansion outside of California.
Berggruen Hotels has entered into a management contract with Nestor Hotels Pvt Ltd under the Keys hotel brand to upgrade and construct a full service 140-room hotel in Marol, Andheri, Mumbai and have rechristened the erstwhile Riviera Hotel as Keys Hotel Nestor.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group will open the ParkRoyal Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur in October 2010. This will be the Group's second ParkRoyal Serviced Suites and first outside Singapore. The 30-storeyed ParkRoyal Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur will feature 287 studio, one and two-bedroom suites.
Langham Hotels International will open The Langham, Xintiandi, Shanghai, in October 2010. Located in Xintiandi district, with its designer boutiques, art galleries, eclectic restaurants and bars, The Langham will occupy a new landmark building with interiors by leading hospitality designer, Peter Remedios.
Coming in late 2011, InterContinental Luanda will be located near the Miramar district, the diplomatic region of the Angolan capital and home to the majority of foreign embassies, making it the perfect residence for affluent business and diplomatic travellers.
