Hotels in Mumbai can remain open till 5 am on January 1

Mumbai police have permitted hotels and pubs to remain open from the midnight of December 31 till 5 am the next day. A top official on condition of anonymity said that it has been decided to give the permission to keep these establishments open till late as the state home department has given its nod. The security situation in the city has been assessed.

PPL issues notices to 125 hotels and pubs in Mumbai

Music licensing body, Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), has issued legal notices to more than 125 hotels and pubs in Mumbai for not paying the mandatory music license fee to play music at year─end events. According to a report in the agencies, the national licensing arm of the Indian Music Industry, PPL protects the broadcast, telecast and public performance rights of its member music companies.

Abu Dhabi Hotel Guests To Increase By 15 Per Cent To Reach 1.9 Million In 2011

Abu Dhabi is poised to open more lucrative business opportunities for the hospitality sector after the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) disclosed that some 1.9 million hotel guests are expected to visit the emirate in 2011, representing a 15 per cent increase from 2010. The robust growth forecast has driven major hotel developments in Abu Dhabi, while encouraging collaboration between key industry players such as hotel chains, travel agencies, tour operators and airlines in a bid to capture a bigger share of the steadily expanding tourism market.
