Appu Hotels to go for IPO by 2012

Chennai─based Appu Hotels Ltd, which owns two five─star hotels — Hotel Le Royal Meridien in Chennai and Le Meridien in Coimbatore — is planning for an initial public offering (IPO) to support its Rs 500─crore expansion plan. According to a report in The Business Standard, the company is planning to come out with an IPO by the end of next year.

Liam Lambert quits EIHL

According to a report in The Hindu Business Line, Liam Lambert, President, East India Hotels (EIH) Ltd, has quit the company citing personal reasons. This information was given by SS Mukherji, Vice─Chairman, EIHL. Mukherji further said that there is no word on who will take Lambert's place. Lambert was appointed in July 2009.

Bengaluru─based Hungry Zone taken over by UK's Just─Eat

Bengaluru─based Hungry Zone, the online food ordering and table reservation website, has been taken over by Britain's Just─Eat. According to a report in www.hindubusinessline.com, Just─Eat, which claims to be the world's largest online takeaway ordering service, has bought a 60 per cent stake in the business, for between USD five million and USD 10 million.
