5-star hotels find able hands in differently abled - About time too!

A wonderful story in BangaloreMirror mentions how the differently abled are now integrating into hospitality services.

I think this is wonderful and it is something all hospitality managers and leaders should work towards.

this is especially brilliant, as the success story is in the 'front of the house' areas and not in the dark alleys of the back areas.  I applaud ITC and the others covered in the story.

When Budhiram Murmu, 27, first arrived at ITC Maratha as part of a pilot project for hiring people with disabilities a little over four years ago, he was as apprehensive about his future as perhaps the hotel itself.

Today the polio-affected person has found success even in the zero-tolerance environment of a five-star hotel.

From being an office boy, he now handles guests in the front office. “I never imagined people like me could find work in such hotels.

Cafe Coffee Day (CCD), a part of Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company, is looking at expanding its base in eastern European and Southeast Asian markets in the near future in its bid to be a global player in the coffee retailing segment. Presently, the coffee retailer has 19 stores across the world, of which 18 stores are in the Czech Republic and Vienna along with one store in Pakistan.
