Chef Pankaj Sharma, Exécutive Sous Chef at Aman New Delhi has received the Bocuse d’Or Award for India this year. Chef Sharma won the national leg of the event at the Indian International Food and Wine show. He will travel to Shanghai next year to participate in the Bocuse d’Or, Asia, where he will compete against other chefs from 11 Asian countries. On the last leg of the competition, the top four contestants will get a chance to compete in the international Bocuse d’Or that will be held in France in 2013.
he Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has come up with a comprehensive long-term strategy to arrest the negative impact of unsatisfactory hygiene and cleanliness at important tourist destinations. “Campaign Clean India” will aim at creating a collective mindset that abhors unclean conditions through a series of initiatives such as workshops, seminars, training and awareness programmes and policies. The MoT will be giving the Campaign a full-fledged institutional back up and has ear-marked provision for funds in Twelfth Five Year Plan. MoT will also set up a Steering Group chaired by the Secretary Tourism to take the Campaign forward.
