NEWS | Kamat Hotels to expand its four-star brand VITS through franchise

Kamat Hotels India Limited (KHIL) plans to expand its four-star luxury business brand of hotel chain, VITS, through franchise route in India. VITS will enter into franchise agreement with independent hoteliers to revive and grow their existing units and simultaneously help the standalone hoteliers to earn a higher return on investments (ROI). For its new business model the company will initially focus on Mumbai, Gujarat and Goa and start six hotels in the next one year through franchise. These hotels will be a mix of existing and newly opened properties.

The Claridges, New Delhi has witnessed a total revenue increase of over 15 per cent in the month of November, 2011. This has been much better in comparison to the same month last year with room occupancy exceeding 93 per cent and Average Room Rate (ARR) above Rs 1200. According to the company release, November 2011 has been recorded as the best financial month ever in the hotel’s history. Worldhotels, the group’s international business affiliate, increased their contribution by almost 50 per cent over the last year for the same period.
