NEWS | launches 'Hotels by Orbitz' app for iPhone has announced the launch of the Hotels by Orbitz App for iPhone, a native application that gives customers an intuitive search-and-book experience designed specifically for the iPhone. It offers travelers comparison tools, secure bookings in three taps and Orbitz Mobile offers including exclusive, mobile-only discounts of up to 50 per cent off hotel stays in popular cities worldwide. According to a press release, the Hotels by Orbitz App for iPhone is available for free from the App Store on iPhone.

The Maldives has topped Kuoni's annual poll of where UK customers want to spend their holidays. In the company's top ten selling destinations for 2012, the Indian Ocean archipelago has held on to the top slot since 2005. The 20-page report has also tracked popular travel trends and the top destinations for weddings and honeymoons, for families, solo travellers, pampering spa holidays, the most exciting adventures and authentic experiences as well as the best destinations for those that care about the planet. The report also highlights changes in holiday behaviour and includes trends in holiday booking behaviour, such as the importance of social media in driving holiday choices.

NEWS | The Westin Xian to open in China this month

The Westin Xian in China is set to open this month. The property features a complex of four buildings that are clustered around an 860 square-meter tranquil outdoor garden with a sunken water feature. The hotel will comprise 300 spacious guest rooms and 29 suites, several restaurants and lounges, a Heavenly Spa by Westin, a state-of-the-art fitness facility with an indoor swimming pool, and large banquet and conference facilities. In addition, The Westin Xian will be the first Westin in the world – and the only hotel in Xian – with its own museum, which will pay tribute to Xian’s important role in the ancient history of China, revealed a company release.

NEWS | Hyatt Hotels to manage three new properties in Saudi Arabia

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has signed agreements with Saudi Arabia-based Naseel Holding Company to manage three new Hyatt-branded hotels in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Park Hyatt Riyadh (2015), Grand Hyatt Jeddah (2016) and Hyatt Regency Jeddah (2015). The three new hotel agreements will bring the number of Hyatt-branded hotels in the country to six. Hyatt Regency Jeddah, will offer 240 rooms, including 30 suites. The hotel, which is expected to open in the second half of 2015, will feature three restaurants, a lobby lounge, and a Regency Club lounge.

Jubilant Foodworks, which own Domino’s India, has allocated an annual marketing budget of Rs 34 crore to spend on digital advertising (including social media), television advertising, and door-to-door promotion. Harneet Singh Rajpal, vice-president, marketing, Domino's Pizza India, said, "Food service is an impulse category, and therefore, it is important to continuously drive the 'need' factor amongst the consumers. And, for that we need to use marketing strategies that will drive the 'desire' factor."
