Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) reported a turnover of Rs 556 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013, which was marginally lower than the turnover registered for the corresponding quarter of the preceding year. IHCL’s full year stand-alone turnover of Rs 1876 improved over the previous year by four per cent. The consolidated Profit after Tax prior to extraordinary expenditure was a loss of Rs seven crore as against a profit of Rs three crore for the preceding year, as per a release.

In a bid to attract entrepreneurs to set up mega food parks and sea food parks, the Odisha government's Food Processing Policy-2013 promises capital subsidy up to 20 per cent of the project cost with cap of Rs 15 crore to the Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) formed for the purpose, according to a report by Business Standard.
"The subsidy can also be in the form of equity participation from the government," read the policy. For setting up of industrial units in the parks, the policy allows 25 per cent investment subsidy of the project cost (excluding land cost) with a cap of Rs two crore.
For women and SC&ST entrepreneurs, the subsidy will be 33 per cent of the project cost maximum up to Rs three crore.

In a huge reprieve to traders, restaurant owners and distributors, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has decided to exclude them from filing annual returns.
The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) had earlier directed all the licenced food business operators with an annual turnover of Rs 12 lakh and above to submit their annual returns by May 31, failing which a fine of Rs 100 a day
The FSSAI, the national food regulatory body, conveyed the decision to us on Friday, said Shashikant Kekare, joint commissioner (food) of FDA, Pune. "Hence, no fine will be imposed on traders, restaurateurs and distributors for not filing annual returns. Only food manufacturers, packers, re-packers, labellers and re-labellers will come under the purview of filing the annual returns and will face fine of Rs 100 per day for failing to do so," he said.
