There is no stopping developers from building hotels in Noida as domestic and international brands vie to grab a share of the traffic going to the Taj Mahal via the Yamuna Expressway. The latest entry is Canadian luxury hotel operator Fairmont, which has signed a hotel management contract with real estate developer BPTP. The hotel will come up on a portion of the 21 acres of land that BPTP owns in sector 94. The company is already building a 500-room Grand Hyatt at the same location. The fivestar Fairmont hotel will have 175 rooms and 100 Fairmont residences.
The Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India has directed the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), New Delhi to go ahead with its proposal of academic collaboration with Cornell School of Hotel Administration, USA, which is a top institute in hotel management. Hyatt Hotels Corporation has expanded to India's National Capital Region (NCR), by opening a Hyatt Regency at Gurgaon. Hyatt Regency Gurgaon has the largest meetings and events space of over 40,000 sq. ft. and highest room inventory of 451 rooms in the city. It is located on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH 8) at the gateway of Gurgaon’s commercial district. Environmental issues will now be the prime concern for hotel owners in Delhi as thirty five five-star hotels gear up to go the eco-friendly way signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that abides them by the Green Hotels Guidelines with the Delhi Government.
