CapitaLand's wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited, has increased its presence in the Philippines by securing a contract to manage a serviced residence in Alabang, a major business district in Metro Manila, Philippines. The 150-unit Somerset Alabang Manila is slated to open in 2017. It will reinforce Ascott's position as the largest international serviced residence owner-operator in the Philippines with more than 1,400 apartment units across eight properties.
The expansion of Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts continues at the crossroads of Southwest Asia and Europe with a new deluxe hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan. Scheduled to open in 2015, Swissôtel Baku is currently under construction and will open in time for the first European Olympic Games. The mixed use complex consists of two towers set upon a shared podium which will accommodate businesses, retail and entertainment outlets and numerous restaurants.
Chinese property conglomerate Dalian Wanda Group plans to expand its luxury real-estate and hotel business overseas, as it builds the world's first Chinese luxury hotel outside of China's mainland to cater to the country's booming outbound travel market.
Wanda said it plans a luxury hotel and development in London with a total investment value of £700 million ($1.09 billion). It will build luxury apartments and a luxury hotel in London, it said.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Oscars Hotels have signed a franchise agreement for a 146-room Holiday Inn hotel at Warwick Farm in Sydney’s south west. Oscars Hotels purchased the Sunnybrook Hotel in April 2011 and with this agreement will undertake a multimillion-dollar refurbishment of the guest rooms and restaurant, after which the hotel will reopen as Holiday Inn Warwick Farm in September 2013.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, has strengthened its portfolio in Russia's regional cities with the signing of a new Park Inn by Radisson in Nizhny Tagil. The mid-market property will be the first internationally branded hotel in this prominent industrial city. The Park Inn will include 135 contemporary guest rooms, a 238 square-metre all-day dining restaurant plus an adjoining 200 square-metre terrace, a lobby bar, a 375 square-metre ballroom and ten meeting rooms.
