NEWS | IHG opens its second hotel in Ecuador

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced the opening of the 122-room Holiday Inn Hotel at Guayaquil, Ecuador. The seven-storey new-build hotel is adjacent to the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, and is the second IHG-branded hotel for Ecuador, with the first being the Holiday Inn Express®Quito, located in Ecuador’s capital city of Quito.

NEWS | Restaurant Performance Index Hits 14-Month High on Positive Sales and Customer Traffic Results

Same-store sales and customer traffic levels rose; Restaurant operators remain optimistic about sales growth in the months ahead WASHINGTON, June 28, 2013 - Buoyed by stronger same-store sales and customer traffic levels, the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Performance Index (RPI) hit a 14-month high in May. The RPI - a monthly composite index that tracks the health of and outlook for the U.S. restaurant industry - stood at 101.8 in May, up 0.9 percent from April and the third consecutive monthly gain. May also represented the third straight month that the RPI surpassed the 100 level, which signifies expansion in the index of key industry indicators.

NEWS | OCS Group ties up with Ginger Hotels

OCS Group, one of UK’s leading facilities services provider, with presence in over 40 countries, recently announced a tie up with India’s leading budget hotel brand Ginger Hotels. The tie-up will ensure that OCS offers total facility management services to Ginger Hotels across the country. Talking about their first venture in the Indian hospitality segment, Sheldon Simon, Managing Director, Radiant Hospitality Services Pvt Ltd, and an executive management team member of the OCS Group said, “India is a potential market. However, this is a labour intensive job where growth is slow, we are working hard, going step by step at the moment.”
