InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement with Dyafah Al Mutahida LLC to open a 200-key Staybridge Suites in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This will be the first Staybridge Suites property, offering an extended stay experience, in Saudi Arabia. Staybridge Suites Hira Street will be located in central Jeddah just 7km from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport. It will be developed on a 14,700 square metres plot and will form part of Dyafah Al Mutahida LLC’s mixed-used development including retail outlets, healthcare facilities and a multi-purpose hall. Shimla, the enchanting hill station in Himachal Pradesh, leads the list of Indian cities with the highest ranked hotels, earning an overall 95.36 per cent score from visitors in terms of reputation, according to a recent survey. This Himalayan splendour was given the rating both by Indian and as well as foreign tourists, according to the reputation index put together by the global hotel search portal Trivago. Shimla was followed by Udaipur in the list.
A recent service tax department survey of air-conditioned restaurants in the city revealed that over 150 air-conditioned restaurants have not registered themselves with the department. "We surveyed 700 addresses of restaurants located in Mumbai between June 29 and July 6 involving 70 officers. We found that 40 bars and 115 restaurants have not registered with us," said an official from the department said.
