Christoph moves to the Seychelles from the Ukraine, where he held the position of General Manager at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv, which opened in 2012. Prior to that, he was General Manager of Fairmont Towers, Cairo from April 2009. Christoph originally joined Raffles Hotels & Resorts in 2005, as Director of Food & Beverage at the former Raffles Canouan in St. Vincent and The Grenadines. He was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager of the property in 2006, before moving to the UAE in 2007 to work on the opening of Raffles Dubai in the same capacity. He was promoted to Hotel Manager in 2008.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world's largest hotel companies, and Felicity Asset Co. Ltd have signed an agreement to build Holiday Inn & Suites Rayong City Centre, the first IHG property in Rayong. The 300-room property will be situated in the heart of Rayong's city centre adjacent to the Laemtong Shopping Mall. It is conveniently located close to ten of Thailand's major industrial parks including the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Park and Map Ta Phut Industrial Park. Holiday Inn & Suites Rayong City Centre will be the first international branded hotel in Rayong's city centre.
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the ten largest hotel groups worldwide, announces the Radisson Blu Hotel, Rouen in France. The 91-rooms property is scheduled to open in Q3 2015, and brings Carlson Rezidor's French portfolio to 23 hotels in operation and under development. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced plans to open both a Sheraton and Le Méridien hotel in Charlotte's bustling uptown business district as part of a $20 million conversion and renovation project. Sheraton Charlotte Hotel and Le MéridienCharlotte will each occupy one tower of a massive hotel complex, currently operated as The Blake Hotel. Owned by Carolina Hospitality and managed by Wischermann Partners, Sheraton Charlotte Hotel will open on August, 15.
Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces has opened Taj Palace, Marrakech, making it the company's third property in Africa and increasing its international portfolio to 17 hotels. The 161-room hotel has 25 suites, a Royal Suite, and four themed riads. Taj Palace, Marrakech features several dining options, serving Moroccan specialities at Rumi; and Asian cuisine at fusion restaurant, Mantra. Bombay Club offers cognacs and cigars. The new property also houses a spa with 14 treatment rooms, two large hammams and a fitness centre, spread across 3,800 sq mts. The range of treatments includes Moroccan therapies.
Royce, the Japanese chocolate maker, has entered India through a flagship store at Palladium Mall, Mumbai. The company inked a distribution tie-up with fine foods and luxury gourmet firm, Burgundy Hospitality, as per a report by Ratna Bhushan and Vijaya Rathore in The Economic Times. Officials at Royce, which sells a 120-gm box of chocolate for Rs 995 on an average, said that initial market tests showed a ready market for super-premium gourmet products. V Royce, which debuted in 1983, plans to set up 20 stores over the next three years in select locations. "We see the brand as an affordable luxury product and will develop a network of loyal premium chocolate consumers across the country," Samir Gadhok, Director, Burgundy Hospitality, said.
Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa has appointed Subhrajit Bardhan as Executive Assistant Manager - Rooms. He will oversee the functioning of the Rooms Division, Security, Recreation and Sereno Spa. Bardhan brings with him over 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, working at properties across the world, including hotels and restaurants in Hong Kong and Ireland, a release stated. He began his career at Oberoi Grand, Kolkata. Later, he was appointed as Executive Chef at Ista Hyderbad, and then promoted to Executive Assistant Manager. Prior to that, he was the General Manager at Ista Amritsar.
