Jumeirah Group has announced a partnership with celebrated luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin, during Aston Martin’s Centenary Week. Jumeirah sponsored the coveted sports car manufacturer at the 41st Nürburgring 24-hour race in May and will once again partner with Aston Martin for the centenary celebrations, until July 21st. Throughout the week at Jumeirah Carlton Tower, a choice of Aston Martin cocktails will be available at The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant, including the Aston Martini and DB9, providing the perfect way to reflect on a day’s car-spotting. On the afternoon of Friday July 19th, Aston Martin Racing’s stunning Bilstein-liveried V12 Vantage GT3 car will arrive at Jumeirah Carlton Tower.

Kodai - By The Lake by Sterling Holiday Resorts (India) Ltd has completed 25 years of operations. The resort was built in 1987 and opened its doors to the public from July 20, 1988. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday said it will exclude Indian Hotels Company from its derivative segment. In a circular, the exchange said trading in Futures & Options (F&O)segment for these two securities would not be available with effect from September 27, 2013. Hotel management firm Sarovar Hotels has announced the signing of a new hotel in Kenya, its third in Africa. The Premiere that is located in the airport complex of Embakasi at Nairobi will offer 144-rooms, dining and conferencing venues for business travellers. "The Premiere will be our third hotel in Africa and second in Nairobi, which is an established hub for business and culture.
India is increasingly showing interest in Africa as a market and we too are of the belief that Africa has a huge potential in the hospitality segment," says Anil Madhok, managing director of Sarovar Hotels and Resorts. Liquor sales in Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh have gone up by about 40 per cent, thanks to panchayat elections. Money and liquor have been flowing into the district with aspirants for sarpanch posts luring voters. Many candidates have already stored liquor for distribution before polling, The Times of India reported. Non-duty paid liquor is smuggled into the district from neighbouring Maharashtra. Excise and prohibition officials recently seized non-duty paid liquor at two integrated check posts at Salabatpur and Salura. According to excise statistics, liquor worth Rs 30 crore has been disposed of within 17 days since July 1.
ITC Hotels will set up their first Luxury Collection brand hotel in Gujarat at Ahmedabad. The Group will soon start construction of the 300-room ITC Narmada at the proposed prime 2.5 acres land behind IIM Ahmedabad. According to an ITC official, the project cost is pegged at approximately Rs 500 crore and will be completed over three years. As per the Group standards, ITC Narmada-Ahmedabad will be LEED-certified, with focus on the philosophy of responsible luxury, the official said.
Sarovar Hotels & Resorts has announced signing of The Premiere, Nairobi in Kenya, thus strengthening its foothold in Africa. The upscale hotel will be the group’s third property in Africa after New Africa in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania and The Heron Portico in Nairobi, a release stated. The 144-room property is slated to open in 2015. It will be located in the Airport complex of Embakasi. The hotel will offer dining and conferencing venues complete with modern facilities.
