Indian Hotels to have 156 hotels with 20,000 rooms by 2017

Tata group hospitality firm Indian Hotels Company ( IHCL) today said it plans to open 34 new hotels globally to take the tally to 156 hotels with a total of nearly 20,000 rooms by 2017.

Accor to open more budget hotels in India

Accor plans to expand in the Indian budget hotel space, envisaging opening 19 committed properties under its value-budget Formule1 brand in the coming years. Presently, Hotel Formule1 has three properties, in Bengaluru (Whitefield), Ahmedabad and Greater Noida, and will soon be opening properties in Pune, Hyderabad and Gurgaon, taking the total number of hotels in the country to seven in 2014, as per a report in the Deccan Herald.
