Construction of New Four Seasons Hotel & Condo Development At 30 Park Place In Tribeca.

Silverstein Properties today announced that its Metro Fund Joint Venture has successfully financed almost $1 billion to build a Four Seasons hotel, a restaurant and private residences at 30 Park Place in Tribeca. At 926 feet, the property will be the tallest residential tower in Downtown Manhattan – and one of the tallest in the city. The tower will offer residents unprecedented panoramic views of the Midtown skyline and New York Harbor, and will also include a public plaza. Construction on the 82-story tower will officially begin on Tuesday, December 3 at 11am, and it will open in mid-2016.

British victim of Mumbai terror attacks sues Taj hotel owners

LONDON: The UK high court here began a three-day hearing of a compensation claim case by a British man paralysed during the Mumbai terror attacks five years ago. Wheelchair-bound Will Pike is suing the owners of Mumbai's iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, the scene of a three-day terrorist siege in November 2008, over alleged negligence in providing security despite several warnings that an attack was imminent. "He did not choose to bring this claim lightly but only after long, anxious andcarefulthought, the 33-year-old freelance filmmaker's counsel Philip Havers told Justice Stewart in the court.

Individual Business and Leisure Travelers Continue to Book More Hotels Online in Third Quarter 2013

December, 3 2013 - The OTA channel experienced the largest jump in bookings, with a 13.6 percent increase in the third quarter compared to last year. Brand.com, increased year-over-year by 5.3 percent. The GDS (Global Distribution System, used by travel agents) grew 3.7 percent. Hotel Direct (calls right to the property and walk-in customers) remained flat (-0.2 percent) and calls to a hotel’s 800-number, the CRO channel, decreased -5.5 percent.
