HOSPEMAG @ Palate Food Festival in Nehru Park,Chanakyapuri

Deepshikha, our senior consultant, was @ Palate Food Festival in Nehru Park,Chanakyapuri. Here is her account of the festivities!

Foodies in Delhi were caught by a storm at the Palate Food Festival in Nehru Park,Chanakyapuri, from 28 to 30 Nov,2014.The warm winter sun coupled with the best 5 Star Hotels and Restaurants opening up their fares to the food enthusiasts made it a big draw.

The event showcased India's best Chefs, produce growers, entertainers and musicians. The City came alive with tons of culinary experiences to explore a medley of tastings, events, promotions and celebrations like we've not seen before. The Festival was the first of its kind initiative between the NDMC and Palate Fest.It was refreshing to see the eating joints operating out of the regular confines of their Restaurants. There were Cooking demos, interaction with Chef's and over all a very hands on experience into the world of Cooking.

There were fun rides for the kids, a photo booth made out of used old cans painted colourfully provided the perfect setting to the photography enthusiasts and one could see a lot of takers for it.Live bands belted out old and new numbers lending the place a perfect setting to eat....listen to music .... and make merry !!!! Lined with picket fences the stalls were neatly laid out with enough space for people to sit out and dine.Cheerful ballons in pink, yellow and orange added to the festive vibe and the kids seemed to be having a rollicking time rolling down the slopes.

To name a few who were there were ; Farzi Cafe, Sodabottle opener wala, Hungry Monkey, Kylin, Mamagoto, Olive, Khan Chacha etc.  Among the biggies were - The Taj Mahal Hotel, The Oberoi, J W Mariott among others.

I personally enjoyed the Chicken Shawarma at A'la Turka from the Turkish Embassy... the Chicken cooked to perfection .. succulent and juicy....with just the right amount of masala. A great way to have spent the weekend it sure seemed to have generated a lot of steam .... kudos to the organizers for thinking of this Out of the box idea ...... !!!!!!!

Let's hope we can do better next time and bring many more food enthusiasts to enjoy themselves....till then ...Bon apetit !!!!!
