Bookings through mobile devices doubled in India: Hotels.com

Bookings made by mobile users in India has more than doubled during 2014, with more than four-fifths of the accommodation in three and four star hotels. Indian hotel guests are now comfortable using their devices for all manner of bookings, whether it’s travelling locally, taking a European city break, relaxing on an Asian beach or exploring the Big Apple.


The Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI) is a regular report on hotel prices in major destinations across the world. Hotels.com continued its advancement in mobile in 2014, with more than one in four transactions now booked globally on a mobile device. During the fourth quarter of 2014, Hotels.com mobile traffic penetration exceeded 50 per cent on peak days, with more than 50 per cent of bookings for the same or next day stays and 65 per cent for one-night stays.
