Young couple found with throats slashed in hotel room

A young man and a woman from Modinagar in Ghaziabad district were found with their throats slashed in a hotel room here on Monday afternoon. Neha Kumari (21) and Ajit Kumar (22) had checked into the hotel near the railway station as husband and wife.

Police said Ajit had attacked Neha with a blade and later cut his own throat. A doctor attending on the duo, however, contradicted this, saying it appeared they had slashed their own throats. Janak Singh Pundir, Railway Road police station officer, said, "Neha and Ajit came to the hotel around 10am. Two hours later, they turned on each other with sharp blades after an argument."

Police rushed the duo to Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College. Ajit Singh, emergency medical officer at the hospital, said, "After carefully analysing the injury, it seems they slashed their own throats." By evening, doctors declared them out of danger.
