Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced that the consortium, led by Anbang Insurance Group has informed Starwood that, as a result of market considerations, it has withdrawn its non-binding proposal to acquire all of the outstanding shares of common stock of Starwood for $82.75 per share in cash and does not intend to make another proposal.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has gone all out with its tax-collecting binge, filling its coffers with a record Rs 444 crores, from property dues alone. The list of defaulters includes the who's who of Lutyen's Delhi, from central government establishments like the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to hotels like The Park and Claridges.
