Revenue Management and Digital Business Workshop

Revxpert successfully concluded its first Cluster Classroom Programme on 20th July. This Revenue Management and Digital Business Workshop took place from 10th -20th July 2017 at Hilton Garden Inn, Saket New Delhi. It saw great response from hotel & travel industry professionals and had an encouraging number of participants.

There were influential guest speakers like Mr. Ravish Swarup-Owner of Praxis Services, Mr. Vijay Jaiswal-Vice President- Sales- Sarovar Group of Hotels, Mr. Tarun Goyal-Owner of Simplotel, Mr. Vibhas Prasad-Owner of Leisure Hotels Ltd, Ms. Ruchika Kakar- Director of Marketing- Eurasia for Wyndham Hotel Group, Ms. Sharda Fonia- Complex Director of Human Resource & Training -The Westin, Mr. Mayur Garg- Associate Director of Revenue Management- The Westin, Mr. Sourav Mukherjee- Rate Gain, Mr. Rahul Trehan- HRS and many more.

Revxpert tried bringing in thoughts and perspectives from different avenues that a Revenue Manager may have to deal with such as Owners, Human Resource Department, Online Travel Agencies, Sales, Marketing, Travel and Hospitality Technology etc. Feedback received from participants majorly reflected satisfaction, excitement and confidence with their learnings. Akanksha Vij from Welcomheritage expressed that “Unlikely classroom training, quite an interactive and brainstorming session. I am quite satisfied coming here and attending this workshop”. Sangeeta Kashyap from Radisson Hotels said that, “I see my Revenue manager everyday doing forecasting and budgeting and have always been very fascinated by it.

I am very thankful to Revxpert that I could learn so much about Revenue Management, Budgeting and forecasting. The best part was the activities that made it even easier to learn. Mr. Ravish Swarup of Praxis Services shared some great examples from his practical knowledge and experiences. He gave a very good example of ‘the revenue managers are not just demand managers but also demand creators’.

He recited a live situation when Oberoi Hotels were struggling to sell their Agra hotel and launch of the same day return Shatabdi was announced by the government. How management took steps to promote Agra to be an overnight destination. He concluded by saying that, “as a revenue manager, knowledge of your business is paramount”. Mr. Vijay Jaiswal, of Sarovar Hotels, gave perspective keeping the consumer in mind. He said, “The consumer is not going to change, but his behaviors are changing. So as a revenue manager, it is important to understand, how behaviors are changing”. He also said that, “since 50% or more of hotel revenues are coming from F&B in a hotel it is important to also look at revenue management beyond rooms”.

Ms. Sharda Fonia from The Westin, when asked for importance of certification, very precisely said that, “if a person has certifications, to HR, it would seem that a candidate is actually very serious regarding his subject, so it’s the person’s intent that matters along with the knowledge he has gained.” Revxpert also announced its next online batch of Revenue Management & Digital Business Programme starting 16th August 2017. These are live, trainer led, scheduled sessions conducted twice a week in either weekday or weekend batch.
